A very trip lick with a bunch of cool Nick Johnston type ideas in the mix. And what a better day to upload this lick than on his birthday!!!! My favorite part of this lick is the mixing of both classic sweep picked arpeggios with some pentatonic runs. While studying some of his faster runs on some of his song I found that Nick Johnston likes to switch between the pentatonic scale and sweeping arpeggios. And he does this smoothly and effortlessly. The sound he gets with these types of runs is a hybrid of neoclassical and blues that is just amazing!
